3v3 Frequently Asked Questions

Frequent Asked Questions

1.   How do I qualify my team for the discount?

In order to qualify for the discount, your team must be registered online before the listed dates, and you must put down the deposit as noted.

2.   How many players do you recommend for each team?

The LumberYard recommends 9-12 skaters and 1 goalie to make up a 3v3 team. This way, if you are missing a player or two, you will still be able to play. Some teams, however, prefer a lot of playing time and choose to have as low as 6 players and a goalie. Just know it’s a quick game, and at least 2 lines of skaters are recommended!

3.   How do I know what level to register my team at?

The LumberJack League uses school grade for divisions.  For instance, the minor peewee league is intended for kids that will be first year peewees or 6th graders next season.  Major peewee league is for second year peewees/7th graders, etc.  Girls are allowed to play down one level.  All players are allowed to play up.  The following birthdates are the maximum age a player can be to play in that division.  If you feel an exception to these rules is required, please call Lee Erickson at 651-253-8947.

4.   I am trying to get a team together, but I am short a few. What should I do?

The LumberYard takes names and numbers of individual players that call hoping to play, but do not have a team. If you are short players, call The LumberYard at 651-439-2011, to see if there are any players at your level looking for a team!

5.   I have a player that wants to play in the LumberJack League, but don’t have a full team. Do you have a team for individuals?

The LumberYard takes names for players looking for a team. If coaches call needing more players, we will pass on your information. Also, if enough individuals sign up at any given level, we will create a team of individuals for them to all play together. If you have a player or two looking for a team, call The LumberYard at 651-439-2011 to get them on the individual list!

6.   When is my team scheduled to play games?

Games are scheduled at random for any given age level. Each team will play approximately 1-2 times per week on Monday – Friday from 5 PM – 9 PM or Saturday – Sunday from 8 AM – 9 PM. The reason they are scheduled at random is so that no one player tends to miss every game because of another spring/fall sport or activity. Once your team is registered, your coach or primary contact will have the option to pick what schedule in your league you want to take on a first come, first served basis depending on registration date with deposit received.

7.   Do I get a jersey for the league?

Yes, each team will be provided with up to 13 league jerseys.

8.   Can girls play in the league?

Yes!  The LumberJack League is a coed league. Most find it advantageous for the girls to play against the boys in the off-season.  We believe it greatly helps their development.  Girls are welcome to play at their age level or down one age group
