Training Programs

At The LumberYard athletes can develop, have fun, and improve their overall skills. This is done through quality repetitions, timely feedback, and the use of state-of-the art equipment. Personalized instruction will give each athlete the proper tools they need to gain the edge. We train athletes to become stronger, faster, quicker, more flexible and more powerful. This is done by teaching proper technique and developing age specific programs that maximize every athlete’s true potential.

Hockey Corps

What: Hockey Corps at The LumberYard are small training groups that players form. They can be their friends, teammates, brother or sister. ... whoever you'd like to train with. Group sizes are from 4 to 6 athletes.

Why: When you train with a small group or corps you can push each other, have more fun, get more individual help and improve faster.

When: You pick the times from our times set aside for Hockey Corps.

How: Each Hockey Corps group will have 10 hours on ice, 10 hours off ice and LumberYard membership perks for the time they are running their corps. Additional times can be added.Start your Corps now, have fun with your buddies and get great training! Contact The LumberYard for more information.

Skate Skool

Because The LumberYard believes that better skaters make better players, Skate Skool will focus on developing players' skating skills and improving acceleration, power, balance, whole body positioning, edge control, crossovers, and strides. The techniques taught in The LumberYard Skate Skool are cutting edge and designed to improve a player's performance as fast as possible. Summer Skate Skool registrations are open and accepting registrants.

Treadmill

 Our unique skating treadmill allows our trainers to teach correct skating technique, train explosive legs and emphasize proper shooting and puck handling.  The ability to multi-task while skating allows all athletes to be pushed to the edge.

  • We provide one-on-one feedback on skating technique and mechanics immediately to the athletes as they train on the treadmill.  Our qualified trainers are able to analyze and provide timely feedback to maximize every athlete’s time and effort.
     
  • We provide multiple repetitions of hockey-specific skill training and cutting edge explosive and balance training.
